Reuben Gobezie

Reuben Gobezie, MD

Chief Medical Officer & Co-Founder

Orthopedic Surgeon, Reuben Gobezie, MD, is a nationally recognized leader in shoulder care and Founder/Director of the Cleveland Shoulder Institute and Regen Orthopedics. He employs both surgical and non-operative treatments for patients of all ages from student athletes to the elderly.

A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Dr. Gobezie was named one of the top 25 shoulder specialists in the US as ranked by leaders in the field. He is also consistently voted as one of America’s top doctors by his patients. He is one of the most experienced and highest volume shoulder surgeons in the country specializing in advanced arthroscopic and open surgical techniques. In 2010, Dr. Gobezie was elected to American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, the most prestigious specialty society in the United States for shoulder and elbow surgeons.

Dr. Gobezie is a pioneering shoulder surgeon having developed the first cartilage transplant procedure for the shoulder performed arthroscopically. He has also developed advanced new techniques for treating biceps and tendon injuries in athletes. In 2015, Dr. Gobezie received the NEER Award, the most prestigious international research award in shoulder surgery. He lectures at many prominent venues nationally and around the world.

Laurence Higgins

Laurence Higgins, MD, MBA

Co-Founder

Laurence Higgins, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon recently named as Vice President of Strategic Development, for Arthrex, a global leader in orthopedic product development and medical education for orthopedic surgeons. In this position, he oversees clinical and outcomes research with Arthrex’s Surgical Outcome System™. He will also contribute to product development, medical education and health care administration relations.

Dr. Higgins obtained his medical degree with Distinction in Research from the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine in Stony Brook, NY, before completing his orthopedic residency at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY. Following his residency, he completed a sports medicine and shoulder surgery fellowship at The Center for Sports Medicine, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Higgins achieved the position of Head of Sports Medicine at Duke University and basketball team physician during his tenure from 1998 to 2005. While at Duke, he founded the Centers for Excellence in Surgical Outcomes at Duke University Medical Center demonstrating his long-term interest in Outcomes Research.

From 2006 to 2018, Dr. Higgins served as the Chief of the Brigham & Women’s Hospital Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery in Boston.

In 2015 he graduated from the Sloan School of Management at MIT earning his MBA degree, to further his impact upon value driven health care. He has authored more than 175 peer reviewed publications and chapters and has led both prospective and retrospective clinical studies. Recently, his work has focused on the cost arena, including cost effectiveness, process improvement and bundled payment strategies.

Bob Malone

Chief Executive Officer, Member of the Board of Directors

Bob Malone is Chief Executive Officer of PT Genie. A visionary and leader in the healthcare sector, Bob has more than 20 years of senior management experience that includes leading multi-billion-dollar companies as well as launching health and insurance related organizations. He most recently founded and served as Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of Fernweh Health, a medical cost sharing community providing affordable healthcare.

Prior to his work at Fernweh Health, Malone co-founded TPA Network Research Consortium, a group that works to accelerate the adoption of new medical technologies and cut the time it takes to bring health innovations into widespread clinical use.

Other companies Malone has led as CEO include Three Rivers Provider Network, the nation’s largest proprietary PPO; Premier Healthcare Exchange (PHX), one of the largest financial technology and healthcare cost containment companies in the country serving more than 100 third party administrators, and The Assist Group (Equian), a complex claims resolution firm serving more than 25 million members. Additionally, he has served as consultant to numerous benefits providers over the years and is regarded as an industry guru.

Malone earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from City University of New York, and a Master of Business Administration degree in economics from NYU Stern School of Business.

Deborah Beebe

Deborah Beebe, ME, MBA

Chief Technology Officer

Deborah Beebe is Chief Technology Officer for PT Genie. She leads PT Genie’s technical direction and execution to deliver a value-based health care solution.

Prior to joining PT Genie, Debbi has been leading R&D departments for products such as medical devices, 3D scanners, 3D printers and materials, pneumatic tools and compressors, aircraft engines and a myriad of web apps, firmware releases, and improved UI/UX client applications. She has worked at start ups, publicly traded companies as well as large conglomerates and loves learning new technologies.

Debbi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Master’s in Engineering from the University of Florida and an MBA from Florida Institute of Technology. She has a passion for change and innovation using the Agile Methodology for both hardware and software development. Her superpower is product commercialization and speed to market.

Adam Buglio

Adam Buglio

Chief of Sales & Strategy

Adam Buglio leads worldwide sales and distribution efforts for PT Genie through his role as Chief of Sales & Strategy. With a background in occupational therapy, Adam’s extensive sales and education experience in the physical therapy space will assist in his work in engaging clinics across the country and around the world to adopt the PT Genie system to enhance their care.

Buglio, of Jupiter, Florida, brings more than 20 years of medical sales leadership to PT Genie. He previously served as Director of National Accounts, Outpatient Rehabilitation Segment for Performance Health where he was responsible for managing all clinical operations and purchasing relationships. His past work also includes directing national sales accounts for North Coast Medical, Inc. and Surgical Instrument Services Company, Inc.

Buglio earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. He is working towards a Master of Business Administration degree from LSU.

Yousef Shishani

Yousef Shishani, MD

Clinical Director

Yousef Shishani, MD, is a research fellow working with Dr. Gobezie at the Cleveland Shoulder Institute in Cleveland, Ohio. As clinical coordinator for PT Genie, Dr. Shishani will manage, monitor and document patient and clinical care activities. He will direct patient care services according to best practice protocol and coordinate both clinical and physical therapy teams to utilize all resources to offer optimum patient care.

Dr. Shishani graduated from the medical school at the Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2006 and then completed a year of internship in Jordan as a general practitioner. Wanting to pursue a career in Orthopedic surgery in the US, Dr. Shishani joined Dr. Gobezie almost a decade ago and has been in charge of research at the Cleveland Shoulder Institute ever since.

To-date, Dr. Shishani has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in major medical journals. He also traveled nationally and internationally presenting many research projects conducted at the Cleveland Shoulder Institute and supervised by Dr. Gobezie. In 2015, Dr. Shishani, along with Dr. Gobezie, were the recipients of the Neer award, the most prestigious award in shoulder surgery related clinical research. Dr. Shishani also won the V. Nickel award for the best paper on rehabilitation after reverse shoulder replacement in 2014. Dr. Shishani enjoys an active lifestyle. He is a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and an avid soccer player.

Sally MacIntosh

Sally MacIntosh, CPA, MBT

Finance Director

Sally leads financial operations for PT Genie with more than 40 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant. She has practiced in a diverse range of settings beginning with a tax manager’s position at KPMG, LLP. She then worked as a Tax Director & Treasurer for Zero Corporation and LA Gear before running her own multifaceted CPA practice. Over the years, she has assisted many startup companies and medical practices in growing their business.

Sally earned both her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and her MBT from the University of Southern California.

Melissa Fitzgerald

Melissa Fitzgerald

Marketing Director

Melissa Fitzgerald is an experienced marketing strategist with extensive experience in the health care industry. She has helped to launch several medical practices from creating a brand to building all marketing materials and managing comprehensive advertising campaigns.

In addition to her work with PT Genie, she serves as Marketing Director for Cleveland Shoulder Institute and Regen Orthopedics.

Over the past 20 years, Melissa has worked in corporate, nonprofit and agency environments and has also served as independent marketing consultant to a wide variety of businesses. She is highly skilled in marketing communications, strategic planning, advertising, social media, content management, media relations, graphic design and event promotions. She graduated with high honors from the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University.

Holly Wareheim

Human Resources Recruitment Manager

Holly Wareheim leads the PT Genie Human Resources and Recruitment department in her role as HR Recruitment Manager. She will be responsible for all on-boarding and off-boarding of employees as well as lead and build our recruitment strategy.

Prior to joining PT Genie, Holly spent over four years working as a Technical Recruiter for two mid-sized technology companies, successfully hiring more than 125 employees. Before her time in HR and recruitment, she worked in healthcare on both the sales and insurance side of the business. She has helped to implement processes to enhance and improve the candidate experience, built recruitment strategies, and managed relationships between cross functional teams. Holly’s core value is passion, which she exhibits in all of her work.

Holly earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Central Florida.

Briana McKenzie

Care Satisfaction Specialist

Briana is a recent graduate of the University of Central Florida and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Sports Exercise Science from University of Central Florida. While studying at UCF, Briana was able to gain valuable experience in several physical therapy clinics in Orlando, Florida and assisted patients with their exercises as part of their rehabilitation. Briana’s altruistic characteristics has made her a great fit for this field.

Hannah Albrecht

Care Satisfaction Specialist

Hannah, a recent graduate from Baldwin Wallace University, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Physical Therapy. Throughout her four years, Hannah had the opportunity to work in a variety of physical therapy settings. From outpatient therapy clinics to inpatient hours at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland, Hannah was able to continue to develop her skills in the field. It is through these experiences that she has found her passion as a health care professional. Overall, Hannah prides herself on focusing on an individual’s overall health, including mind, body and soul.
